For the cheap price, I always change the oil filter o-ring and the crush washer with every oil change. Also check oil level in the sight window.

Can you make more videos on maintenance for this awesome bike. It would help many of us! Thanks 👍

K&N was originally a racing oil filter company, racing engines require less restriction of flow due to high volume oil pumps and high pressure pumps. The problem with using K&N filters in a non-modified factory engine has to to with filter efficiency, K&N filters are made for increased flow, in order to achieve that flow they reduce efficiency so the filter doesn't provide as much restriction to flow. As a result K&N filters are about 85% efficient at trapping contaminants while a standard oil filter might be 98% efficient. This is pretty much the same with K&N air filters, they don't trap as much dirt and debris because they are made for flow as opposed to maximum filtration.

Thanks for the video. After starting it up. You should’ve checked the sight glass afterwards, then top off until at proper level. Cycle Gear use to sell the HiFlo 141 filters for $5 a piece, it looks like they don’t carry them anymore. HiFlo makes the K&N filters for the Xmax.

With the way things are going in the world with supply chain, rumors of wars with China, ect. I always get few years worth of filters and oil, an any other wear an tear parts like brake pads, cut belts, brake fluid, I do that for my generators and any mechanical motorized equipment I got

I do the same. I have enough oil and filters to last awhile. Go Ravens!!🏈🐦⬛😆

Curiously, you put only 1.2 US qts in it while the specs call for 1.69 qt/1.6L. Did you check your oil level window afterward? I'm getting ready for the first oil change on my '24 XMAX and I purchased a 5L jug of Shell Rotella T415W-40 that has the required JASO MA/MA2 spec. That should be good for 3 changes. An HF-141 filter runs $8.95 in my neck of the woods (Quebec, Canada).

Sounds like you have all the right stuff. I did add some extra oil.

Looks pretty straight forward,, so, I think I'll do my own oil change....I know you are probably an experienced mechanic, but my teeth were on edge watching you tighten those tiny 8mm bolts....two words....Torque wrench

@@slowridersmotovlog201, but how to check the amount of oil correctly? By screwing the dipstick or just putting it in the oil without screwing it?
@dejandezman61394 ай бұрын
@@slowridersmotovlog201, i watched the video again and I see you don't have a dipstick. You probably have a window through which you look at the oil level? I have an Xmax 400 and the oil plug is also the dipstick. In the instructions, it says that it should be screwed, but when I screw it, it shows about 2 dcl too much. If I just put it in without screwing it shows exactly. I had a mechanic change it for me and now I'm in doubt, whether he overfilled me, or he didn't change my filter, or the instructions say it wrong. I also saw one video on YT where the dipstick is only dipped in oil, without screwing. But now I'm confused. I even drained some oil so that now the level is at max when the plug is screwed on. I'm afraid it won't be enough now. As a precaution, I will refill at least 1 dcl from the 2 dcl that I had left when I drained it.

when you put in the oil filter cap is there a little pressure to set in the oil filter? is it like squeezing the outer rubber of the oil filter?

600 then every 4,000 or so I would do it every 3,000

I have the same experience with the leak. I tightened it up with a torque wrench with 10nm. After testing for about 56km still has a little oil leak at the top of the cover just very little. Have u experienced it with yours?
@slowridersmotovlog2014 ай бұрын
No once I tightened it up a little it stop. No leaking at all. You might need a new rubber gasket that’s in the oil filter cap.
