They're tough to sell, but sometimes I just can't resist them! Come with me as I give this poor little coffee table the paint pour treatment! Scooped up from the side of the road, this coffee table is the perfect candidate for a paint pour treatment, and will be a perfect blank canvas. And you won't believe the stunning results!

Stunning makeover! Looks like a marble top now and the green is a gorgeous forresty green. I think the slant on the garage floor acted in your favor. I think the paint pour turned out more dramatic from the slope.

As an interior designer myself, I recently donated my time and materials redoing a pair of nightstands for a teen Mom home, the EL ROI house. I tried faux marble on top (never did that before) and black base. Using regular wall paint. Turned out great! Hope you’re feeling like your seemingly quirky ideas are some of best finished surprises! You go girl!

What a concept. Amazing, and beautiful! I do so enjoy your work, and adventures. I love old furniture, and will admit that for the most of my 82 years, I've preferred to leave them with their origional early attic finishes. But modern is good, I love watching your magic. And so many of your pieces have truly won my heart! John's bar cabinet, truly a work of art! And that sage green planter table, I would have loved to own, and the little chess table, so special! In spite of my origional opinions, you have a fan, I do look forward to each of your episodes.

Spectacular Andy! You clearly have an instinct to know what freebie, abandoned at the side of the road to pick up, because you can't take them all home. You may not know where your blank canvas will take you, but you dive in anyway taking that step of faith, joyfully ready to discover what will emerge from your creative imagination. It is so helpful when you share the numbers at the end of your fables. I will be interested to learn how much you sold it for, if you ultimately sell it. (of course you may choose to keep or gift it instead) Cheers to you, whatever you do!

Thanks!! Yes, several folks have suggested thicker paint. I've seen it done that way and more watery like this, and for what it's worth, it worked for me. Maybe next time I'll try it thicker. 😊👍

A quick and dirty hack for those who cannot find a level workspace: I have used a level and shims under the feet/base of the furniture to get a level surface for pours, be it paint, epoxy resin, CA glue fills, etc. Your coffee table turned out wonderfully. Nice job. :-)

I saw someone do a "marble" counter top. I was hoping you would before you started. Her's was 90% shades of white with accents of grey and muted gold and a Kiss 😘 of green. It looked like polished marble. Your tilted floor helped produce the natural look of stone. Personally, I would have preferred less color in the table top. But that is just personal taste. Beautiful result. The running off the sides made it like real stone all the way through.

Amazing job Andy. The table turned out fantastic! Love the colors. Just a suggestion, if you wanted more control over the pour maybe try using chef condiment squeeze bottles. A very long time about on "Trading Spaces" one of the designers paint a end table/coffee table. She did some kind of effect with watered down dish detergent in a mister bottle and dabbled her fingers over it like playing the piano. It had almost a burling effect.

What a cool idea...the end result looks like a designer magazine table! I didn't know where you were going with it and thought maybe you were going to turn the table on it's side and pour the paint down like a waterfall, lol, but I loved the blow dryer effect. Very soothing to watch almost like an ASMR video. It really looks like some kind of high end granite or marble! Beautiful job!

I love the green. It feels like a deep forest filled with ferns. The top turned out beautiful. The colors you chose are a perfect complement to the green base. I see no frogs here! I’ve never seen a paint pour with watered down paint. The results are lovely. I’ve done a few (much smaller!) pours with acrylic paint and floetrol. It’s a very different effect. I need to try your technique! It looks like a lot of fun!🌸

GREEN LEGS ROCK! I'm now a total fan of paint pour 🥰 What a stunning transformation! First time viewer here... I wonder when you do this sort of project, do you actually see the finished project in your mind when you pick a piece to refurbish, or do you just have a solid understanding of what methods/styles work every time?

Thanks so much, so great to hear about those green legs, and WELCOME! Great question - for me, each project is different. Sometimes I know exactly what I'm going to do (for the most part, at least) and other times, I sit in my chair out in the workshop (garage) and stare at a piece for a very long time before an idea comes into focus! For this table, I knew I wanted to try a paint pour - it seemed like a great candidate, and then the colors kind of evolved once I knew I wanted that Manor Green on the legs. 💚😊💚

@@FurnitureFablesbyAndy thanks for the thoughful answer 🥰 It's good to know it's often a process, even for the experts, to figure out what should be done after finding s piece with potential I feel less intimidated now: I'm encouraged now to go ahead and grab a piece & spend time developing a direction for it instead of passing on it because I don't immediately envision what can be done with it. Thanks! Love your work!

I doubted your color choices when you first revealed them, but the finished project is gorgeous! And, yes, I like the deep green base. I think black would have been too much with the poured top. I Would however like a black base with a black, white & metallic gold poured top. Maybe with a touch of red streaked in? I know I have seen red used more in decor than it used to be.

Floetrol!! Oh yes.yes.yes. Use that according to the directions and you can play and play to your hearts content. It puts....bubbles?? If you'd call them that...into the paint and gives it feet!! ( to go with your legs I would suppose!!) LOL. Look it up!! Oh, hey. Have I told you that yours is my favorite " non-sewing" KZbin channel??? You are #1❤️

Hi, I’m one of those people who would not want to deal with the mess. I’ve done paint pouring on canvas and it’s fun to watch as the patterns and colors developed. As to your table I was not a fan of the green color but I’m sure it will look great in the right place. It’s nice to be creative and experiment with new ideas.

Love that forest green and the top looks like marble. How about pour first and paint last?
@FurnitureFablesbyAndy
@FurnitureFablesbyAndy Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much!! Yes, I may try that next time - although any splatter still has to be sanded back , or the finish will be lumpy...and my bigger worry was over spray on an already finished paint pout top. 😊💚👍

Your project is amazing. I am guessing it will get snapped up. Paint can do a lot. We painted our garage floor in Miami to mimic a Mexican Saltillo tile. We felt it contributed big time to the sale of our house.
