Hey mate, nice vid, learnt off an aircraft engineer to pre soak the filter same as in ya vehicle…think how many revolutions the engine will do? Before the oil pumps through to the engine… thanks for ya vid mate and always share the tricks of the trade…multi mill aircraft do this so I been doing it with every engine I service…enjoy the water everyone!🍻🤙🏼🐾

I was able to extract 3.95L yeasterday. I done around 4-5 drawn-mode cycles. On my very first oil change (10hrs) I extracted around 4.2L. Which was crazy. I thought my dealer overfilled with oil. A lot of seadoo owners said its very common to get it overfilled from the dealear. But in reality when you are doing oil change you are replacing only potion of the whole oil volume. not all 100%. I belive total amount of the whole oil volume is something around 5L. Also spark plugs is better to change as well. they cost around 20 Cads, better to keep them clean. and will take extra 15 minutes..

nice vid. concise. there is a green mark on the lip of the oil filter cap that I believe needs to be lined up with the green mark on the oil filter canister...at least on my SeaDoo Switch there is.
@TheOceansideGuyАй бұрын
Interesting. I have seen the green dot. But not heard or seen anyone talk about that. I did an oil change vid on a Switch too. Sea Doo does not even talk about the "green dot." Thanks for bringing that up.

There is no need to do the Drown Mode to get a small amount of additional oil out. You can only remove about half of the system's capacity. It also causes the system's pump to cavitate and run dry until you get the new oil flowing. If you do the drown mode, you don't need to pull the siphon tube all the way out making a mess, just pull it into the dipstick tube and you will be fine.

Hey Deric, enjoy your videos. Have you changed the battery yet is that still the factory battery in your jet ski

Thank you very much. Yes I have changed out my battery at about the 1 year mark. I did that because when I launched one day and went to start the ski.....it didn't.

Very helpful video on the oil change, Sorry for the change of subject but can you tell me the best way to winterize my 2023 Seadoo GTX 300 by blowing out all the water in the system or flushing it with antifreeze ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
@TheOceansideGuyАй бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the vid. As far as winterizing, I have never had to do that because I ride all year around. Im not familiar with the steps to winterize. Sorry I couldn't help.
@billy-bo-dilly24 күн бұрын
Blow out the open loop cooling system through the flush port with compressed air regulated down to 55 psi. Do this until no more water comes out the exhaust. This replaces the need for flushing with antifreeze. Pull the spark plugs and spray several seconds of fogging oil into the cylinders. Spin the motor over while holding wide open throttle to shut down ignition and fuel injection. Replace plugs. You can easily make an adapter for blowing out the exhaust by buying a 3/4 male water hose thread to 1/4 inch NPT female fitting and add an air fitting.
@billy-bo-dilly24 күн бұрын
The first thing to do is go ride the ski to get the oil hot. It will stay warm for several hours due to the closed loop cooling system. Running the ski on the hose is damaging to the carbon seal and will not get the oil warm unless you do several 60 second cycles.

@TheOceansideGuyАй бұрын
Interesting. Why?
@JeffNesbit-f4rАй бұрын
@TheOceansideGuy i watched a video from the watercraft journal about flushing the oil at 10 hrs so I went ahead and did the 10 hr oil change and fortunate for me I live five minutes from a small river with a launch ramp so I went for a five minute rip and then changed it again. The oil with five minutes on it was just as black as the first oil change. And yes I did do the drown mode to completely get all of the oil out. It might have been over kill but I feel good about it. Lol.
@TheOceansideGuyАй бұрын
@@JeffNesbit-f4r OK. Gotcha. Thank you for sharing. The watercraft journal is amazing.
@billy-bo-dilly24 күн бұрын
@@JeffNesbit-f4r The reason the oil was black is because you can only remove 3.5 quarts out of a 5.5 quart system. Doing the drown mode is a waste of time and causes wear to the oil pumps and starter motor.

It is interesting how Seadoo recommends oil changes at 100 hours for an engine that runs 5, 6, 7000+ RPMs non stop and has a capacity of less than 1 gallon. That is some good synthetic oil and some precise engine tolerance work. However, i also dont go a full 100 hours because the logic of that engine use seems too extreme to me. I change around 50-75 hours for peace of mind.
@boandjillАй бұрын

Is not the oil semi synthetic, a blend?
@TheOceansideGuyАй бұрын
@@st5637 yes it is a blend. There is also the fully synthetic. An oil that does not break down as fast.
