My advice is to not play in standard, alot of shoegaze is alternative tuning such as F tuning and such Another one is to layer your guitars more, and use more effects, the weird ass effects and guitar layering is what give shoegaze its distinct wall of sound of noise and melody, also using 7th and 9th chords alot to give it a more melodic sound overall. We got way more than quannic bro 😭😭 Also ik some other guy mentioned it but the guitars need more layers, try using fuzz, delay, chorus and a shimmer verb as well, shimmer can help get those really nice wide backing almost synth like layers , and also if you wanna sound like mbv use a whammy bar on a jazzmaster and do some whack tunings. You could probs do with some synth layers as well as they are pretty common in the more dreampop kinda side of shoegaze , can rly help fill out the sound

One band I've found that is pretty good, that I think is Shoegaze? Not sure... But I never hear them mentioned. The band is Superheaven. Good stuff they got. I reccommend listening to their album Jar. It is very good. They also have one song that really blew up recently cause of TikTok(💀) the song is called Youngest Daughter. Good shit. I got their CD because of it. Which probably wasn't a good idea. That thing is rare and it costed me 50 buckeroonies. Kay, that's all. I'm gone. Oh... Hold on, I'm a dumbass. Their music is more in line with Grundge. Or as I've heard other people say; "Post-Grundge"
