+Christopher Tung Hi christopher I would just like to know what flip do you recommend to impress your friends but really easy to do. Love your vids btw and just one improvement please put a difficulty rating system thanks.
My sideflip keeps turning into a backflip, as if i'm taking the shortcut to the ground. How do I prevent that?

Awesome! Blocking is great for height, but make sure you are also jumping off of your toes and are using your arms. As you jump into the air, try thrusting your arms upward at the same time, then swinging them down to rotate. Hopefully this will help you get more height! Good Luck!

What helped me was blocking technique I wasn't getting height I accidently blocked and got a lot of height it forces me to go higher then I got over the fear.
@ChristopherTungFlips11 жыл бұрын
That's an awesome question haha. Okay, I personally jump off of my left side even though I am right handed. It's really what you are comfortable with. Most people choose their side based on the leg that is dominant - my left leg is dominant which is why I like my left side. If you don't know which leg is your dominant leg, use the leg that you put forward first in a cartwheel. Good luck! Hope this helps!

Hey bud! If you don't have any mats or a gym, you can actually have a buddy help you out a ton! Have him bend over forward and turn to the side. From there, practice rolling over his back like you are doing a sideflip. When you are comfortable, have him drop really fast when you jump over allowing you to perform the move without touching him. After the fear is broken, practice cleaning up your form and increasing your power. :) Good luck!

@matitkataha10 жыл бұрын
Could you explain exactly why lean sideways is so important? I've watched many tutorials and others said to jump up and just tuck knees.
@ChristopherTungFlips10 жыл бұрын
Leaning sideways, or landing with your feet in front of your body before taking off, is known as blocking. The reason for this is pretty simple. It gives you more height in your jump because it converts your running (forward) momentum into upward momentum (jump height). Watch 0:46 - 1:06 to see what I mean. :)

Destiny ツ / Zander_21 cool das du deutsch bist :D also ich meine wenn du seitlich abspringst suchst du einen punkt und schaust den an also drehst dich quasi um den punkt den du anschaust. @gh0stybeatbox4116 жыл бұрын
Bude Haun yooo sideflip fear is real!! The way I got over it, try front flips onto a mattress, slowly turn your feet each time but still face forward and flip. It will give you the comfort of a front flip but the rotation of an awkward side flip. Eventually your legs will go over your body sideways. Kinda a sideflip hack. Worked for me but everyone’s different! If that helps then work on proper technique!

I have some small issues when i do sideflips 1. When i do sideflip i land like backwards or sometthing like a 90 or 180 degree. 2. Today when i did a sideflip my friend said that when i do sideflips i tend to land a bit to the side. 3. I dont know where i should look when i takeoff Please answer this and it would be really helpful. Peace.
@douche921710 жыл бұрын
U are swinging your front arm wrong. If u for example jump over your left side u have to swing your left arm parallel to your axis. Be sure u dont swing your arm in front of your body, it has to be at your side until u tuck. Otherwise u will trigger a rotation that will cause u to land backwards ;D

Which is easer a front flip, back flip or a side flip
@ChristopherTungFlips10 жыл бұрын
I personally think the side flip is the easiest to perform. However, the concept of a side flip can be difficult to grasp. Next, I would say the back flip is the 2nd easiest because the landing can be spotted, unlike the front flip's landing.

Christopher Tung I'm curious to know, my issue with this is, is that I have a fear of going over sideways completely... =.= and I'm the guy who accidentally almost did a double front flip. So would you have a tip on getting over that land sideways and go over sideways tip? Because it feels like I'm going to go over backwards and then I freak out. Resulting in my attempts of going into the flip diagonally and doing it like a partial front flip with a small twist so I transfer into a side flip. That's my issue, and I have it down to a science. I'd like some help so I can progress into the cartwheel and round off to side flip. Thanks bro!
@ChristopherTungFlips10 жыл бұрын
Samuel Walker Hey bro! This is actually a really common problem. I even struggled with it. In order to fix it, I practiced rolling over some blocks and people sideways to get a feel for the motion. Then, I went to a trampoline where I was able to slow down the flip and really focus on fixing my form. Try videoing yourself, that is always helpful. :) Good luck!
@Machoman72010 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I don't really have a trampoline or know anybody in the area with one, so I guess I'll just have to grit my teeth and do it. Thanks for the tips on rolling over stuff though! That's a help! And I'll definitely tape my future flips!
@Machoman72010 жыл бұрын
Christopher Tung I found myself a good tip with strength project for people who have trouble with timing, so if you ever do a tips video, I'd recommend something along the lines of holding your throw arm tightly beside your ear and not throwing it downwards until your feet are off the ground and your butt is in the air. That helped me a lot, and I finally got over the fear but kept falling and it turned out my timing was bad. So now I land! But yeah, that tip, man, it should be a golden rule set in stone...
