The probe marker should be oriented towards the patient's right or head IF the marker (dot) on the screen is on the patient's right side, and that is how always should be, to avoid any confusion. Sometimes a confusion is made because some people don't know about it and when the marker on the screen is, automatically or by accident, shifted on the other side and the examiner holds the probe accurately, one gets his image turned around. I think that in this video the marker on the screen is oriented towards the patient's left side so in order to get proper images they hold the probe the other way around. Or it's just them being British and doing things opposite of everyone else!

The technician was pressing the probe so hard into my skin that it was very painful and left bruises! Never again will I do an ultrasound! Is this normal?
@Sonoknow
@Sonoknow 5 ай бұрын
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. While some discomfort during an abdominal ultrasound is common due to the pressure needed to obtain clear images, it should not be excessively painful, and it definitely shouldn't result in bruises. It's possible that the technician may have applied too much pressure or used an incorrect technique. It's important to communicate any discomfort during the procedure so adjustments can be made.
@NickiPerri
@NickiPerri 5 ай бұрын
@@Sonoknow Yes, I agree, but this was excessively painful. Couldn't breath because of the pain. I communicated with her about the pain and she just said “I’m sorry but I have to do it this way for a better picture.” No excuse for all the pain I went through. Days later and I’m still in pain in my pelvic area. ☹️☹️
