I honestly just enjoy exploring the waves and different conditions. Online comps are like playing against otherworldly AIs, it's almost depressing to do it.

How do you get more speed or does it do it automatically ?

move the nose of the board up and down and it "pumps" it and accelerates it.

Drag your finger either left or right depending on which direction your going. Obviously up and down will make you turn. But if you go exactly horizontal either forward or back towards the wave it will either speed you up or slow you down. For speed you basically want to pull your avatar forwards and to slow down your basically trying to pull your avatar backwards towards the wave. ( i know im a lil late but maybe helpful for anyone else who stumbles across the video).
