If the discharge is clear ask your vet to infuse vitamin C 20 ml intrauterine 1 hr before AI. If its not clear I would suggest intrauterine infusion of antibiotics. Aslo inject Vitamin E 5 mL IM 3 injections and Injection Tonophosphan 10 mL IM every alternate day 3 injections. I Hope this will help. You can also feed fish oil 50 gm daily for 10 days starting from Day 7 of AI.

If semen has been deposited at the right place it will not come out if the cow sits. So important is right placement. Once semen is in cervix sperms move forward and a small number of sperms would come out through vagina irrespective of whether cow is sitting or standing

Practice makes a man perfect. Have patience and hold the cervix in your palm and try to locate the os externus and introduce the gun slowly inside.
