With the digital effects combined with practical, it is best to colour the digital effect so that it doesn't look out of place (make it the same or a similar colour to the clay and fake blood).

I use a red expo marker for blood because after you use it, you can just wipe it with your finger on any toy. I use red clay as well to make the gore
