Hi Becca. It's about 24 hours since you changed my lettering life by showing m me EXACTLY how to figure out how to "bounce" my letters. I cannot stop. I bought the graph paper you suggested. It was a Lil expensive but worth it. Noone taught how and where to "bounce". I struggled with, "should I drop down here? How many letters go between each bounce?".. and so on. You showed me exactly how to figure that out using the graph paper and by circling the right spots to descend and ascend. And I've not stopped lettering all day. It's so fun. I was suffering from, "failure to Bounce". You've cured me. Thank you. I've binge watched most of your videos and is been a blast. I'll attend one of your classes here in there very near future. Thanks again girl. You're my new hero!

I've been trying to learn brush lettering for awhile but have been pretty overwhelmed. I came across your channel and I just have to tell you, you're a really good teacher. You have a very methodical approach and you break things down in a very clear, organized fashion. I 1000% agree!! No one I watch has ever used the grid paper and broken down which letter to bounce and how high!! I'm so freaking happy. I'm 3 months new to this hobby and I love it but.... I've been stuck! Bummed out and thinking I just might not be cut out for this. That all changed after watching this simple yet perfect video! Oh I just over the moon happy! I buying myself a reward. My DIL is very good at callifraphy, i always wanted to learn from her but was not able to do so until i came across your tutorial. I learnt the basic strokes, bought all your books, just need to finish the last one Flourishing. This video helps as I started bouncing my letters in my craft projects. In calligraphy I found, except the basic strokes, there are no rules but there are rules, so when I got to the last two books, I was a bit lost, and that's why it is taking me so long. Thanks anyway, I enjoy all your videos and your teaching. You are a great teacher.

I think a LOT of people stop using lines when they become just a little comfortable with hand lettering. And THAT'S when their work becomes illegible.
