Dear kids, understand the selection procedure clearly. Whatever order of preference you give , you will be given that college which is available for your rank. Only After alloting anyone college i to you in your entire choice list, the next rank will be taken up. So fill the colleges as per the popularity. Who knows you may get your dream college also. As a senior doctor i say , study in an old college. Old colleges have a tradition that they follow. The path has been laid by seniors for generations and that path will be followed. Sports, culturals, literary activities, intercollege and interbatch events, annual tours and pg preparation guidance are all well established in old colleges. Dont miss all these in the five and half years of ug life. MMC, STANLEY, KMC, CHENGALPATTU, COIMBATORE, MADURAI, THANJAVUR, TIRUNELVELI AND SALEM i recommend as top list . After that all colleges may be selected with convenience and proximity to home. Also select a place where you will have relatives and friends to help the child in case of emergency

I have similar scenario. I went to Directorate of Medical Examination seeking explanation. They are not taking this seriously. I think if more number of students with similar issue raise their concern or do a writ petition, then only we will get solution. After the online counseling starts we cannot claim even if TN Rank List Order is wrong. We need to do this before the Online counseling. I suggest students with similar problem can do a writ petition and get the TN Rank List corrected or else border mark students will loose genuine opportunity of getting a seat and good marks student will loose chance of better college.

If the student is wealthy, he can opt self finance colleges. Suppose, He is not wealthy if he opts Pvt colleges, he will be given the opportunity to join in self finance colleges. It will create unnecessary trouble to the next student. Again the next student has to wait for round 2. Is it worth studying by investing 40 to 50 lakhs by a student from poor family. If we provoke, he will join by somehow managing the first year fee. The trouble will continue from the next year for the student. As per my perception, if the student scored more than 500 and he is in border mark, better he can opt coaching classes for next 4 months and definitely secure more than 600 perhaps it is his first or second attempt. If it is his third or fourth attempt, better to join in any new colleges or self finance colleges by keeping in mind about the fee structure.
