Thank you, SO MUCH. I watched a 22 minute instructional lecture *twice* and failed my first two attempts at the test, tried to work through it with my brother and neither of us got it, only to come to this video and understand more after the first 28 seconds than in the entire two 1/2 hours I've spent today on this lesson. I damn near cried tears of joy. You are the bomb, and I am absolutely checking your channel first thing whenever I have questions about pre-calc from now on!

Excellent video. I would have rationalized the denominator first, then if you are familiar with the unit circle......you would have known Sin (root2/2) = 45 degrees & 135 degrees.......then the rest of your explanation would go along with that method as well. Nice job, Sir.

The video has great visuals and your methodology is excellent but can someone explain why ppl always use special triangles to find the arcsin/cos/tan of x angle? What if I had to find the correspondents arcs to a triangle with 36-54-90 angles? Trigonometry is a thing.ಥ_ಥ

how can we change any inverse trigonometric function to simple trigonometric function?
@SimpleMath
@SimpleMath 5 жыл бұрын
Great question! The simplest answer is what I show at 1:10 in this video. So, for example, x=arcsin(1/sqrt(2)) can be changed to a normal trig function by rewriting it as sin(x)=1/sqrt(2). Then the problem is figuring out what value of x we need to plug in to sine to get an answer of 1/sqrt(2).
@prashantkumardwivedi3230
@prashantkumardwivedi3230 5 жыл бұрын
@@SimpleMath is it possible that sin(-¹)x = sec(x)...??? If not then tell me that way by which we can change the inverse trigonometric function to normal trigonometric function except that way. as[x={sin(-¹)(1/2) ] So [sin(x) = (1/2)] If any way you know please tell me that.
@SimpleMath
@SimpleMath 5 жыл бұрын
@@prashantkumardwivedi3230 that is a great question. At 0:25 I talk about this exact point. Most teachers/professors who write sin^(-1)(x) mean arcsin(x), _not_ sec(x). I know it's confusing, because x^(-1) = 1/x, but there they mean the -1 power, whereas sin^(-1)(x) means the inverse function of sin(x). That's why I write arcsin(x) in the video, not sin^(-1)(x).
