In this video the lovely Dante is helping me demonstrate how to do rising trot, otherwise called posting trot.
I have used slow motion footage to help emphasise certain points and give you some extra tips for how to do the rising trot to control the size and tempo too.

I like how you demonstrated this with the colours to show that two beat pace 😊

OMG! I finally got it. What a great video, I've watched others say the same, and use the different coloured feet examples but this is the first time I realsied when you raise and when you sit. It's also the first time that I have seen how your pelvis moves to the front and keeps your upper body perpendicular to the ground / saddle and is not the up and down movement throwing your balance foreward. I realsied that bit during the slow-mo just before your caption came up describing the arc movement. This is an epiphany, you've just changed my world. Thank you.

I know that you commented this 8 months ago, but here are some tips! If you are scared of cantered sing your abcs or do something like breathe too make yourself feel more in control (it helps) I write a check mark on my hand so when I see it I reamber to check these things: Heels down Hands not on the horse withers He lands together Shoulders back Posting correctly (If trotting) Hope this helps!

OHHHHHH WOWWW! This is the best video I’ve seen! I get how to do the motion!! And your not rising with your legs but with your hips and pelvic area! It’s a foward back, forward back motion and not a up, down motion! Thank you so much! 😁😁

An excellent video. One mistake I was personally told to pay attention to: Do not rise unnecessary much in the saddle. Just so much as to get your weight off the horses back and to sit down as gently as possible.

Keep your knees soft (not gripping) and bend them as you lower yourself (sit)

Silver Boomer once you get more experienced then when the horse is on the wrong diagonal then you can feel something off when they are on the right diagonal then it feels normal.

In the beginning you will glance down at the outside shoulder to watch when it comes back. EYES only, keep your head level. As you progress you will start to feel the belly of the horse swing out and in, or right and left e.g. If on the left rein, anti clockwise. The left hind and right fore are going up and forward as the belly swings out to the right. This is when to rise. In this example the belly swings back to the left as the right, outside fore and left, inside hind are coming back on the ground. This is the sitting phase. Reverse this when on the opposite rein. It takes experience to feel this and help from a trainer on the ground is beneficial to get the timing correct.

Ok,that is fine,but what to do when the horse is moving in a straight line instead of going in circles.
@equievolvecoaching5777
@equievolvecoaching5777 2 жыл бұрын
If travelling straight you will mostly still be in position left or right. So apply the same principles to the direction of flexion. However if you are referring to hacking, just make sure you change diagonals periodically so you are not always sitting to the same diagonal pair. Keep it light in all cases!
