SIP in Shares is not good concept. Its always prudent to buy at support. Max allocation 5 %. Mr Buffett said in interview that sometimes he had not bought anything for months as valuations were overstretched. Patience is must in direct equity. Nifty & individual PE , Sector performance, tailwinds & headwinds for shares and many things to watch before investment.

Mutual fund SIP is good for investers who doesn't have a good financial background knowledge (or) who doesn't have much time to do research/analysis and buy stocks. 2. SIP in stocks is good for people who have time to research/analysis and buy stocks on their own. Financial knowledge will increase automatically in the long run. If you are a beginner, it is always advisable to invest (SIP in stocks) in NIFTY 50, next NIFTY 50, SENSEX based on your monthly investment budget. *** You will never lose money if you invest in SIP ( both mutual funds or stocks/equity ) *** For beginners, it is advisable to invest SIP (stocks/equity) in NIFTY 50, next NIFTY 50, SENSEX. For advanced investers, this video is applicable (make a portfolio based on your market knowledge and budget). *** Exceptions: Loss could occur in any ways due to market crash/recession/corona virus 3rd wave, etc. *** Your profit margins in SIP (stocks) may be comparatively less (approx 10 - 15 % in a year) but you will not lose your money. To save more tax, you can choose Long Term Capital Gain (10% tax on your profit, hold the stock for a minimum 1 year) instead of Short Term Capital Gain ( 15% tax on your profit, hold the stock for less than a year ). Saari baatein achi lagi I agree. But ek baat jis se mai agree nahi karuga ki 1500 se niche ke price ke hi stock hone chahie only. Ye illogical laga point mujhe. I agree ki we can't add shares like shree cements etc in this kind of portfolio but we must have shares like HDFC, HDFC AMC, Bajaj finance, Finserv, Reliance Industries even one to 2 shares of Maruti we can also add in our portfolio. My question here is, you recommend stock price should not exceed 10-11% of SIP allocation i.e. Rs.1500 Max Stock Price. But some of the best running stock cost 2000-3000 Eg TCS, Hero Motors etc...which are actually a good buy, what do you suggest in their case to setup a SEP/SIP? Which kind of SEP/SIP is better? i.e. setting with Amount or with Quantity? I understand Amount is determined by the persons periodic capacity, but ultimately does having lets say 50-100 stock at the end of say 5yrs makes more value?
