I have same hair type as you here’s what I did before I went with dreads.. Wash it about 2 times a week, condition it every day or every other day, either is good. Make sure to detangle your hair when you wash it. (Detangling your hair once a week works) If you dry your hair with a blow dryer make sure not to be too close to it- stay away from heat damage,, I’d recommend air drying your hair above all unless you don’t have time then just pat dry with a towel, stick to any consistent hair schedule and you’ll be fine
