just so people know; the event only happens between 20:00 and 06:00 (8pm to 6am) so if you're switching lobbies outside of this window you won't get the event

Found it first try then the npc cop heli blew up i didn't shoot it but the weapon glitched in the vent now im still looking 😢bruh

I’ve found 2 lobby’s on PS4 however after killing the thieves I am not able to pick up the weapon from the thieves. There’s a blue dot on the map but it isn’t on the thieves. I have tried killing myself to no avail.

Update after roughly 100 swaps I got the event but no option to pick up gun after a further 15 times I got it again and picked up the weapon
