Anyway, I just finished do a review of the stats for my New Orleans Art and ALL of my note cards and I'm seeing a big pick up in June and July which is really cool. Now I can use what you teach me in the video (which I saw you post while I was doing the stats) and update all the cards. They were big sellers last year and this year I've hardly sold any so ...with any luck we'll those guys back on track!

I completely understood what the requirements were, up until towards the end where you said that the key focus phrases should be in the title and repeated in the tags. I thought it was best that there was no repetition between the title, tags, attributes and categories.

Essentially, you don't want to repeat keywords unnecessarily, but it's okay to repeat ONE keyword or key phrase to give it more weight-that would be your exception and your "focus keyword". Very clearly explained. As a long time Etsy seller I can say that as a fact. It's all too easy to add in information that is not helpful to a newbie. I'm in the top 3% on Etsy. Sad to say I don't get daily sales. Every time they change the search my sales plummet. I added a cotton face mask to my shop at the end of March and told a few friends about it. They came and made a purchase. Somehow that exploded into over 56 sales in a month. I barely make 100 sales a year. Then suddenly in the middle of May the sales disappeared. No rhyme or reason with Etsy.

So if I understand correctly, only repeat the most relevant long tail keywords, don't repeat too much of the item designation like necklace or earrings and think of other words that could apply? I think the hardest part for me is thinking outside the box to describe my items (jewelry). Do you think looking at fashion magazines for how they describe similar styles is a good idea or is that too much fluff that nobody is searching for? Thank you so much for the nice words about the video, I am glad it's helpful! You only want to repeat the most relevant keywords - often called focus keywords - in your tags and title. It doesn't mean you should never repeat another one, not hard rule - but try to avoid excessive repetitions and use that space instead for more variety in your keywords. Regarding the magazine idea, I think this is actually a good thing to do during the keyword brainstorm process to get ideas of potential terms, but then you want to do some research and keep only those terms that people are searching for to filter that list of ideas down.

Last month i bought a SEO pack from fiverr to help with keywords and titles. They are obviously very wrong, I will try this method. My question though, the seller on fiverr mentioned that it is important to use 3 capital words in your titles, is this true? I am using this now, but i have noticed a massive decrease in sales when i changed the SEO of all my listings...

As in 3 words capitalized/in uppercase? If so, that is not a thing :-) I hear horror stories from Fiverr gigs every week - you can 100% learn how to optimise your Etsy SEO yourself.

@@Tizzitco Yes like this MODERN WALL ART, it seems like a lot of them suggest the same, I will def keep watching your videos as it makes a lot more sense than what the fiverr rip offs do, before my first comment i bought another seo pack from a different seller there, well... that one was even worse.. luckily i got a refund for both of them ;-)
