Luv ur yarn twists. The purple is beautiful I was imaging it with strands of white mixed in how it would look. Don’t know why this came to me but would luv to see u use those colors in a video doing yarn twists

If u talking about the strips of yarn it all depend how u want ur size to be. The bigger the braid/twist the more yarn you will used. If you don't want it to big used lesser strips of yarn
