6:00 that site is a SEO nightmare. he separates words and sentences into spans to create this "cascading" effect without including the actual text for crawlers to read. not to mention the accessibility issues related to it. and the console is full of alerts. i bet they picked that up on the awards site.

Yes true, but keep in mind not all sites rely only on SEO, for some it might be worth the effects in order to appeal visually through paid ads

i put quality work on behance and get 1 view per month. then some indian dude posts a scribble he designed over lunch which loosely resembles a 1995 website and he gets thousands of views and comments.
