Once you paste and run the clone command, find the folder where the code was saved to and open the main file, named "download dot py", in a text editor. Go to line 104 which should say "time.sleep(3) # wait this many seconds" and change the 3 to 30 or 60 or however many seconds you'll need to complete 2FA. Save the file then run it as the tutorial says.

I used this to download all of my facebook tagged photos. Got it working but ran into a few issues. I would get a ' -a' is an invalied command. I think this was just becuase compared to the video when chrome opened on the Facebook page I had an 'allow cookie' prompt. I found out that I had to be ready to click on the allow cookies prompt that came up to quickly get past it. Also I needed to change my pw to something that didn't have any special characters a it may use a different region keyboard language when inputting it from the script. Im UK. Ocassionally it would get stuck on one photo so I manually had to click to the next then it would carry one. Thanks for the great work Tony :)

When I use “source” an error comes up saying “the term ‘source’ is not recognized…” I have windows and uploaded everything required so not sure why I’m having this problem.

The instructions he provided are for Mac. The first steps where he sets up and activates a virtual environment are slightly different on Windows. First of all, I personally had to use "python" instead of "python3" in the command. Second of all, file paths are different in Windows so don't bother with the whole ~/env/fb business. Instead what I did was make a new folder in Documents called ENV and when running the first command I provided the full path to the folder, i.e. "python -m venv C:\Users\myusername\Documents\ENV". You could make this folder anywhere as long as you give the full path to the folder in the command. Lastly the source command won't work here, instead run this command: "\Scripts\activate.bat" where is replaced with the full path you provided before, e.g. what I wrote instead of the source command was just "C:\Users\myusername\Documents\ENV\Scripts\activate.bat". Then you're all set to continue.

Thank you. I was thinking of trying to put something together like this to help out my sister but looks like you have it covered! Is there any way to get photos from the albums on Facebook? I'm not sure if these show up in the "by" downloads. To me it seems like they are not based on a few observations of mine.

Ok I think I missed that you can pass an album name to -a. It would be cool if you could download all photos from all albums. My sister seems to have ALOT of albums :P

Installed as per instructions and python script runs ,but even though there is a "Photos of You' album on my profile page and the code launchs chrome logs into profile code returns the following outputs" :- Opening Google Chrome browser Going to Facebook Going to profile page for me Going to photos page for me Opening "of" photo album Loading first photo User does not have "of" album Similar result of the -a by option . I noticed that it did not display the username and password being entered in Chrome it did display a notification that Chrome was being controlled by automated test software. I am running Chrome Version 109.0.5414.119 - freshly installed for this test . It appears the auto login is not working. Even running the script with a Chrome page open and logged in it still fails.
