How to Download Embedded Videos Using DevTools

There are many websites in the internet to learn any subject. Most of them depend on streaming videos online than providing the video files offline for viewing later whenever we want it. That's why in this video we will learn how to download embedded videos for offline viewing. This may also help you to learn how to download videos from private and protected website, but there is no guarantee because every website is different and security for any website is paramount. That being said, this trick WON'T help you with Netflix, or Prime Video, or even on KZbin sometimes. So, please respect copyright policies and be cognizant of this practice before you download videos that may have been embedded for a reason by the content owners. I only recommend doing this for your personal use and not misuse it for illegal gains.
I tested this with some of the Pluralsight videos too and it worked fine.

This might work on some outdated sites, but modern streaming services all run blob segments (via XHR calls) of .ts .m3u8 etc, which is completely different thing.

@@Louie_fit It depends, many times they sequence label those elements and don't encrypt. So you can bulk download by increasing sequence numbers (element1.ts element2.ts elementN.ts) and then reconstruct video by bulk converting them in tool like open source handbrake to mp4 for example and then concatenate them into single video file.

Do you have any suggestion for if a website tries to stop you from using dev tools to download the video ? Like some websites there will not be 1 mp4 but many smaller media files, some websites don't show any media files and some websites show a normal .mp4 with normal size but opening the page if 'error 403 forbidden'

Not showing media here, too. In fact, the screen that comes up looks nothing like what is shown here. What looks like a timeline with colored dots shows at the top, an empty table in the middle, and some html and error messages at the bottom. There is no place I can see where a URL would go in plain text. Any advice? I've tried stopping and starting the video many times, reloading, etc. Thanks in advance.

It just doesn't work with youtube videos. You can spot the file (webm mime type) ask it to open in a new tab, but you can't play it let alone download. Did you try in youtube?
