How to Download GEDMatch Tables To Your Computer | Genetic Genealogy

I've not yet used Ged match, as I believe that they only have 1 million profiles compared to over 15 million plus on ancestry. Have you heard that Ged match was recently hacked.

For some reason this does not work for me in the Microsoft Office desktop application. In Excel, it pastes the entire table with data listed continuously (no space or tab separation) into 1 cell. The paste import wizard also does not appear as an option to use after copying the table in GEDmatch. Very odd, I frequently use Excel for large databases so I'm not sure what the problem is. I will try pasting in Word with the tab delimiter, copying that, and then seeing if the paste text import wizard works in Excel. Or maybe I'll try the online version, are you using Google sheets? Or Microsoft Excel online (sorry if you said and I missed it!)?

It seems to work well if I paste plain text into Word, copy from there, and just paste (CTRL+V) into Excel. Is CTRL+SHIFT+V a shortcut you set up to paste plain text? I was excited to try it, but it also doesn't seem to work (in Microsoft Excel), nothing happens other than the sound of the "you can't do that" beep :).

Last thought - it is too bad GEDmatch doesn't have a table export option. I have to copy and paste the table in multiple parts or my computer freezes and the program stops responding because it's trying to paste too much at once. Sigh, maybe some day!

How do you copy and paste the WHOLE TABLE? Jeez. What else could you think we want to do. No don't answer that. Honestly.
