When I type cmd in the folder there is a ">" sign i cannot get rid of, like this - C:\johntheripper> so i cannot type it out as per the video

just run CMD just like usual and navivate to john folder location

That zip file from 1.9.0 version is from 2019. It is outdated and does not work with latest file types like zip/rar/7z/keepass etc

If anyone is having a problem where when you type “John” in the command prompt and it says “execv: $JOHN/john-xop: No such file or directory”, then just try it in power shell and it should work.
