In this video tutorial above , pls measure your bust span measurement on the bust and waist line and not from the chest line, that was a mistake on my part, and then measure one inch down from the bust line not the chest line. You are welcome. You will have to use a dart to make them equal. Except if you want to make a dartless top.

Please I have a question, after drafting the basic bodice block on a pattern paper, please do I need to add any extra seam allowance at the button( that's the end of the full length line) when it's time to cut on my fabric or I should use my actual half length measurement without extra seam allowance? Cos I noticed every other allowance was added to the circumference area, but nothing was added at the full length

You are welcome. Yes you should add sewing allowances at the bottom and all around the pattern when you are ready to cut on your fabric. I did not add any sewing allowances because I want to make this pattern a master copy so that anytime I want to create a design that requires the basic bodice, I will use it without having to worry about the sewing allowances. I will add that on my fabric.

Thank you very much ma. Pls I will like to know why on the front panel you didn't use the bust line for making your bust measurement and in marking the dart, you dropped down from the chest line instead of the bust line.

You are welcome. To get your armhole curve, you are suppose to plot in your bust circumference measurement on the chest line. For the dart, I am so sorry that was a mistake, you are suppose to drop down from the bust line.

You are welcome. You can apply dart manipulation. If you do not want the bust dart, then you can transfer the dart to another place and once you sew the dart, the front and the back will match.

When measuring the front and back bodice length, the shape of the body, having the bust in front can make it so that there is a difference between the front and back. Get somebody to take your front and back measurement and see what you get.
