How to draft a Plus size skirt pattern to achieve a well defined butt /plus skirt

Hi sis, am the lady that dropped the measurements you used for drafting the skirt, am here to say thank you so much, I tried it out and for the first time,my skirt came out nice, it accommodated my tommy and also the back sat in well ,no bombom pushing it up,haa I was so happy with the outcome. I wish I can snap and send, but don't know how, thanks all the same.

Can we use this same method when drafting a gown? And also do we come down on the front waist line for the tommy effect?

@@adebimpeakinmolayan7366 Yes, you can use it for a gown If you are making a straight gown without joining, you don’t need to come down on your waistline but if you are making a gown with upper bodice and the skirt part you have to come down for your tummy before joining them together

Thank you for explaining the different amounts to add/take out depending on body shape. Being able to change the pattern based on the different body shapes (big thighs, room for tummy etc) is really useful and missing from normal tutorials. Going to draft my pattern now, wish me luck ✨

Hi sister, I would like to ask if I could use this pattern for a long skirt and when using it is it safe to 8" in total on the knee , and also can we do the boum lift u thought us here on a long pencil skirt

@@adebimpeakinmolayan7366 Yes ma you can This pattern applies to a long pencil skirt, and whatever you have on the knee can be transfer to the hem as well. And the slit should be high enough so you could walk, if you don't want to use a high slit, you might not tighten the knee so much

@@sewstylewithGB thanks so much for your prompt response ma, but I noticed that after measuring my knee length with is 18 from my waist , when I came down by 8" from my hip to get my under burt it was really on my knee length which I measured earlier before I started drafting. Am not sure you get what I mean?

@@adebimpeakinmolayan7366 You want to get your underbutt length? If yes, from your hip line come down by 5 inches or simply measure it on your body. Because of different body shapes and height, the measurement might not work for you, I will advise you measure from your waist to underbutt ma

Finally u na my teacher for life. Omo I tried this Ur skirt lesson, the fit was top notch. I wish I could send u the pic, so grateful. Meanwhile I want to know if u have advice for how many inches to remove for ppl with fat laps. I removed removed 3" and discovered that it was too tight for me. Ma lap is 28" pls do u have any advice for me?

You are welcome I'm glad you like it For people that have big thighs (remove 1 or 1.5inches), I will advice you remove 1.5 inches from your under butt, you can only remove up to 3 inches for slimmer thighs and protruding butt
