I'm still learning how to sew as I never learned from my elders before they passed. I plan on making a cosplay soon of one of my favorite characters and she wears a notched lapel style vest. Most of the patterns I find are for an asymmetrical one, but hers was not as it was supposed to zipper in the middle of the front. I might be able to use your pattern making to make it finally.

This was so useful, thanks so much! When I started sewing I (obviously) bought some patterns and had to play around with them to get them to fit me (I'm a tall guy so it always takes a while for me to get a new pattern to fit great) and this one vest pattern I altered sm bc its a great fit. Not that I'm much more experienced drafting is so much more understandable and I can draft my own vest patterns with all the different lapel options without needing to buy patterns over and over again! Assuming I’m making for a longer length,maybe for length 25 or 30.can the breakpoint start on the waist point or below the waist as desired.instead of how you come up by 2inches above the waist in the video.

The way u explain is amazing. U should have started by saying first go do the back draft from another link this is only front. Lol I used multiple color pens and marked everything just like you. Ok now I'm gonna do the back (But where? there is no link for back draft!)
