I, too, enjoy sketching boats. And I joined your #boatober2024. It’s a fun challenge.

He can draw and he's handsome ! Seriously, though, this was very helpful and useful. I'm excited to start playing with these tips. Definitely helped me to see things differently, thank you! x

Thank you. I've found some useful advice in all three approaches. In particular the figure 8 is a good idea to get a handle at unwieldy boat shapes. Maybe I'll even find the courage to try some of your #boatober challenge :-) .

Very interesting! I never heard of the figure 8 method and it really is simple. The box method makes me think more but it looks like it offers more variety of angles for viewing the boat. Thank you so much!
@dougjacksonart Жыл бұрын
Yes the figure of 8 only works for shallow angles. The box method is the most usefull 😊

Great information and am going to give boats a try. My usual boats are in the distance with no detail as found it difficult getting shapes etc correct. Your instruction is perfect. Thank you.

Thanks Doug..(nice arty scarf, btw) I've used the figure eight method before, and it works really well, as long as the angle of boat fits, but the box method is a winner - I'll have to see if my #boatober23 efforts now get better...

Hi Doug. Which is the fountain pen you are using that can draw fine and thick lines? I spend money in some fountain pens but they are quite rigid and I can get that flexibility feom them. Thank you!! I love your videos. They make me want to draw more and more😊

This one is a Noodlers Ahad flex nib pen . Thanks for your comment 👍
