How to draw a realistic rose step by step | Pencil

For someone who is looking for a tutorial for the very first attempt, i would not recommend this, there are better ones out there. BUT, if you've done a few starter drawings before this, then its a fairly decent tutorial at drawing a rose. Personally i used a HB pencil for the initial sketch as it's lighter and easier to fix/erase. then i used the 6B for the final outlines and shadding, though i need alot more practice with the shading part. Still i thank you for the tutorial, my rose didn't turn out half as bad as i thought it would. As a person that tends to give up quickly due to depression and lack of motivation, my advice is to focus on drawing and be patient, it won't look good until you're actualy done. ❤

What # pencil do you use? Cause even if I sharpen my #2 pencil it is still hard to not leave permanent marks no matter how lightly I push down. Can you help me with that?
