This is an excellent video, as others I have seen from Arthur Geometry. The explanation is clear, and the use of the simulated compass and drafting triangle is very effective. However, a minor improvement, which reduces the number of steps with the auxiliary lines from nine to six (because there is no way to avoid the eight steps to draw the eight sides of the octagon) is to directly bisect the right angles at the two top quadrants with four arcs, two of them are shared between those two top quadrants. Then, the two diagonal bisectors obtained, at 45° each, are extended so they reach the circle at their both ends. This construction works also to easily inscribe a square, with vertical and horizontal sides, inside a circle, the vertices are at the four bisectors-circle intersections. But the vertices of that square, which we don't need to draw for the octagon, are vertices also of the octagon, together with the intersections of the vertical and horizontal axes with the circle. So, in total, is 14 steps compared with 17 steps in the video. I hope this suggestion is found useful.
