Hey Luke, long time admirer. I tried learning perspective drawing for years, didn't have a good teacher and Scott Robertson's book was weirdly arranged! Last week I had another go and after learning about using ellipses to find squares in perspective, suddenly EVERYTHING clicked in! It's like a superpower. I can Draw! Now your videos are PERFECT and I get everything that's going on. That bit about the relationship with the side of drawing board was enlightening! And your sqiggly ink lines, knowing how exceptional the end results are, is very liberating to see. Thank you.

It makes sense because even in photography you have to take a lot of care to have your picture plane exactly parallel to the building/wall in order to get proper lines relative to the frame. It's good to actually think of the picture plane as the picture plane! It's an extension of the scene and the rays.

Also didn't know about dividing the square in thirds! I used the horizontal line trick for odd divisions.

Great video. I’d love to see a bit more info on how you bring the skeleton layout to form a fuller image. I always struggle with that and my drawings are very light and lack depth

Thanks Rob, I'll try and cover this more in future videos. Sounds like you might benefit from a thicker line weight or layering more over time......just commit and don't be afraid to go too far with it.
