Ethan I love the technique you describe to draw a circle freehand, but I have trouble implementing it. I am suppose to anchor my hand to a point on the paper, but if I apply too much pressure I find that I can not turn the paper around. If I apply too little pressure, the position of my hand on the paper drift and I the pencil does not end on the same position that I started so the circle is not closed. Any suggestions?

+Carlos Muniz Hi Carlos. Good question. I had the same problem too. You basically just have to find that sweet spot where you are using just the right amount of pressure to keep your pivot point from moving. It's a bit tricking and even for me, the pivot point will move a tiny bit. One thing that helps is to use a really dark or soft pencil. That way you don't have to push down as hard with the pencil in order to make a clean line. But it will basically take a bit of practice to get used to.
