How to draw like... PewDiePie??

After watching pewdiepie's "I drew everyday for 100 days!" You might've been wondering how pewdiepie suddenly became a better artist than you out of nowhere... well, me too. So I analysed what exactly did Pewdiepie do that allowed him to improve his art skills so quickly, and I'll be sharing that info in this video
This wasn't the video I was planning on releasing after my hard brush video. If you're coming from that video, apologies for the lower quality 😅 I just wanted to quickly share some of the lessons I've learned. But the next video I'm planning on is still in the works. honestly pewdiepie's experience made me rethink the whole way i was going about art. i was focusing on too much stuff at the same time that i barely used when all i wanted was some anime girls and boys and the ocasional random jewel drawings. after his videos i decided to restart my whole process and i feel like ive improved more during this time than i had for over a year trying to learn everything at once

Thanks for making this video! Apart from my shock and awe of Pewdiepie learning how to draw in that timeframe (and I can't even stomach his videos normally) I am stunned and glad that he did so, and it inspired me to move on. So much time was wasted by me and I didn't learn to use my own voice and trust myself about what I wanted to draw until fairly recently. I still enjoy the doodling that I was so into during the rage of all the flash animators from Newgrounds on KZbin years ago. Those are still the people I look up to the most when I want to draw. Pewdiepie just proved the point that if you enjoy what you are doing, you can be really good at it if you continue to enjoy it and stay curious about how to improve and grow with it. The fact that he added markers so much later means that he loved (and somtimes hated) what he made and wanted to make it a better illustration, so that he could see how it looks for himself, not necessarily so that he could show it off (he wasn't thinking about presenting it in an appealing way to someone else, he just wanted the illustrations to look appealing to him personally, sorry for the wordy mess :( ). He persisted and got what he wanted, which was more skilled drawings of the same anime girl portrait material. I think a lot of us don't want to be pro commercial artists, where we sometimes lose all of our desire to draw and create images because we have to make it good for someone else on demand. Or spend so much time in the beginning that we're too exhausted to keep desiring improvement, I think rather it's better to practice and improve, than grind in art for the sake of money and make lifeless/soulless pictures as a result. I'm drawing to myself what I want to see and the process of drawing on a page gives me the closure for what I want to see and do.

I just noticed that I did the exact same thing with my artstyle: A few years ago the only thing I did was using references to draw things like videogame characters etc, and I also was very good with perspective. But It wasn't since last year that I started drawing in a more cartoony style and I ended up improving so fast. I may not know how to draw anatomy but I don't really care, I just LOVE to draw with my cartoony artstyle ^^
