Very interesting, thanks. I love the way you analyse your needs to guess the way you'll use inkscape to achieve your art. I'd use shapebuilder tool to draw hearts, from 14:25 : no need to use complicated method from there. I'd also use snapping to rotation centers : it may help aligning shapes with oblique guides.

Hi Ray. I'm currently on version 1.3.2 which is the current stable version. I think at the time of recording this mandalas video, I was either on 1.3 or 1.3.1. I have found that upgrading versions is relatively painless and certainly worth it for the newer features. Cheers!

All in all a very nice video, sadly there where some things you have not explained like how you made the "drops"

Thanks for watching @Atezz29! I felt I needed to speed up the video to prevent it from being twice as long. Here are the steps to create the "drops" as seen from the 23:40 point in the video: Use the Ellipse tool to draw a vertical ellipse. Apply Path > Object to Path to convert the object to a path and provide access the path nodes. Using the Nodes tool select the top node. Convert it into a corner node using the diamond node button in set of node formats at the top. Still using the Nodes tool, select both of the middle nodes with a bounding box. Hold the Ctrl key and drag one of them down, which moves both of them down. Go back to the Selection tool and resize as needed while holding down the Ctrl key to keep the proportions the same.
