How To Draw Paper Pieced Patterns in Photoshop; 2 of 2

You guys asked for it and here it is. This is how I draw paper pieced patterns in Photoshop. You definitely don't need PS to draw your patterns, that's just my personal choice. You can use graph paper, MS Paint, Draw, or whatever drawing software you have access to.

So if you have a pattern that's not symmetrical you need to flip it before you number it and such right?

@leftyclayjar The way I work now is the result of a lot of trial and error. Some of my early patterns...whew, they leave a lot to be desired!

Hi, Denise. This is a very old version of Photoshop, I think it was PS7. I made this video about ten years ago now and it's unfortunately been so long since I've designed in PS, my information will be quite out of date now! If you're looking to design your own paper pieced patterns, there are some great options available just for that purpose. Quilt Assistant is free for personal use and is just for desiging foundation paper pieced patterns. EQ8 is what I use now, and while it is awesome software, it's not just for paper piecing, and it is a paid option. I hope that helps!
