This is one of the best lettering/calligraphy videos I’ve seen. I’m a tattoo apprentice and needed a better idea of how to build the lettering rather than how to get smooth lines. This video actually dives in to the similarities in letters and the basics of calligraphy. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much. I know that lettering can be really difficult for some people. I’m really glad that you enjoyed it, hopefully you got some valuable information from it.

Dalton Rios That was an aphorism that always struck a chord. I wish I could remember where I heard it.

Just one thing when you was doing the capitals is the g a small one or is that what the capital one looks like too?
@Jewp.4 жыл бұрын
I prefer to do my capital ‘G’s similar to the lowercase style. It’s just a design choice. Experiment with both until you find the one you like.

how do you know how many “spaced” each letter should be?
@Jewp.3 жыл бұрын
Each letter is one unit besides letters such as i,l, m,w, etc. they will vary. This is why practicing will help you. If you’re referring to the kerning or sos d between the letters, that is up to you, but remember to keep it consistent throughout.
