I'm a beginner, how do u measure soap batter for mixing colors? As u did 7% for diff colors?
@avantsoapstudio66543 жыл бұрын
When it is a new design, I tried to estimate that amount/volume of each colored batter I may need. In this case, I wish I would have made more of the white base and slightly less of the colored batters - as I overpowered the white and ran out before I was completely done. If I'm not completely sure, then I tend to make more than I'll need and use any remaining soap batter in a small mold. Hope that helps :)

What combination of oils and at what % do you use so that they do not thicken fast?
@avantsoapstudio66543 жыл бұрын
To get a trace that does not accelerate I used a combination of a FO that tends to decelerate (pink grapefruit from Brambleberry) and a soap recipe of almond oil (8%), coconut oil (30%), grapeseed oil (25%), lard (25%) and shea butter (12%) at a 26.5% water as a z5 of oils. Hope that helps - just be patient - it will take at least 20 minutes of had stirring to reach the desired trace before pouring. :)
