I’ve been following your channel for a while now and your videos are always very valuable. But as a tattoo artist myself, this is amazing to see 😊 thanks for doing what you do!

Thank you for calling people like mangaka or tatoo artists masters, they really are the modern equivalent of what the pre-industrial evolution art work called masters
@stephencronin10802 ай бұрын
Could you expand on that? What about what they do would make them masters? I'm not saying they're not, I'm just interested in the criteria.

I am brazilian, I am a visual artist and tattoo artist, I admire a lot the work of Fredão and when I saw that you would bring some study of his technique I was amazed. You inspires me a lot! Thank you for do what you do on this channel. I want to start to learn with the masters too, but not sure how to start

Nice study! I would really love to see how you would render the Xeno's head. Oh, and the ÃO is really trick for non-Brazilians to pronounce. Lots of nasal sounds coming from indigenous languages. There is this great English singer called Earl Okin and he does a great bit about pronouncing this kinds of sounds. Love your videos!

Thank you! I looked up how to pronounce this master's name, however despite many tries I failed to get the sounds correctly. Hope everyone forgives me :) His work is amazing!

Chloe, I am impressed. I love the raven as well as the raven+man. What makes this even better: to watch you progress. From my humble point of view these master studies of the last weeks and months were an amazing accellerator to you. So, but now: Back to my own drawing exercises. Thanks for the motivator to get back to my own stumbling forward and learning. Have a nice day! Regards from Germany 👋🏼

Thanks for the master study! I know I should be studying them, but struggle on how to approach it, this gives some clear guidance on what to look for.

Ink is just ... satisfactory, simplicity and complexity at the same time. Tip for pronouncing his first name: Freh Down. Hehe, im brazilian, our language is a bit complicated to pronounce sometimes. May the Lord Jesus bless, Chloe!

Oh thank you for the pronunciation tip! That's super helpful. Glad that you enjoyed the study of Master Oliveira's work.

I love your videos. I was wondering if you could or have ever done a video study on Harry Clarke ink art (not tattoos though)? I think his stuff is really interesting and detailed and would love to learn more about his techniques.

Thanks for the kind words! Harry Clarke has been requested several times and is certainly high on my list. You can expect to see a feature on him in the near future!

Great advice on the shading! I have often wondered, when drawing something intended for a tattoo, how to plan for realistic line thickness, etc when it's actually applied to the skin? I would think that there would be a minimum line thickness or things would end up blending together when actually tattooed on the person. It would be a shame to do a fully rendered piece only to find out that many of the lines are too fine for the tattoo needle/gun to actually apply?

Have a look at Master Fredão Oliveira's Instagram or website, it will give you an idea of how his inks sustain on a human canvas
