I've heard so many different concepts of where to place the trendline (be it at candle body lows, or wick lows) but my question is for your method: If you put it at the bottom of the candle body, then move up a timeframe, perhaps the candle bodies are simply wicks on a higher timeframe, do you consider that? Do you move your trendlines accordingly or not bother with multiple timeframe analysis? (quite a lot of questions sorry) but thanks in advance for any insight!

You draw trendlines on whatever chart you prefer to trade. I often trade the 15min chart and use trendlines if I'm scalping the market but for bigger potential reward, I think trendlines are more effective on 1hr charts and up (4hr, daily, Weekly, monthly).

better start from the day down to the M15 if you want to scalp the M15 so that trendlines from the bigger time frames guide you as to where you have support and resistance as they are stronger than those drawn on shorter time frames!

To Tradecity: This video is good: Question: Will just using trend lines and a moving average as in this video be sufficient without the use of lower indicators as the MACD, RSI, Stoch. etc? I would prefer it to be as the video in order to eliminate clutter and the confusion along with it. What do you believe?
@Tradeciety

in my strategy, I use trendlines as just one tool. I also use a lot of price action/wave analysis, a moving average and Bollinger Bands.

Hello Guys, again thanks for the video. Question if i may, at about the 8.30 mark, you are using a third trendline on the GBPUSD , where you have started it confuses me greatly, why did you pick that starting point?? Please. Thanks in advance Anthony
@Tradeciety
@Tradeciety 8 жыл бұрын
Hello Anthony, the third trendline I drew connecting the swing highs from the short consolidation. The starting point could have been a bit further to the right as well at the real swing point. Let me know if this helps. Rolf

Hey really good and easy explanation. Thank you very much for such good explanation. I have a question though the candle bars in your example charts are of 4Hour difference and I have seen the same in different videos. Is there any reason behind that to keep them in time difference of 4Hour? Is it okay to keep that difference to lets say 1Hour or 30monutes? will it affect the analysis of chart? please reply if you are reading this.

Maybe i'm wrong. But It looks to me like you are trying to make your trendlines fit your price. But that's not right. One time you draw it through bodies, the other through weaks. It's got to be consistent, ether you draw it through bodies or through weaks. And there're some other corrections you are making to make your trendline fit the price. I know TA is not a science, but you are making it even more subjective than it is. That just my opinion. No offence, bro!
@Tradeciety
@Tradeciety 7 жыл бұрын
The most important thing about trendlines is not HOW you draw them, it's that you get the most confluence. This is one of the many reasons why so many people struggle with TA :)
