Stippling definitely takes some time. I often take breaks and adjust my posture every once in a while to make it easier on myself. If your piece is really really big, sometimes you can hold some pens together with a rubber band to make more dots, but only if it's a big piece. Or you can just look at only one section at a time to feel like you're moving faster. Either way, you have some time and I'm glad you're looking up tutorials to help. You've got this, Mia!

@MsCoopersArtClass2 жыл бұрын
If I'm understanding you correctly, I think the best way to do this is to slowly erase your grid as you go so instead of working up to a line, you can spill over into the next section. That often helps me to avoid getting strange boxes and lines. I hope that helps!

I am new to stippling and wish videos meant for new artists would mention how important it is to learn to make dots slowly at first. When the videos are sped up, some might think to make dots fast, but when I did that, some of my dots have “tails”. I noticed a few dots with tails in the sphere example. Why learn bad habits from the get-go?
@MsCoopersArtClass11 ай бұрын

what kinda of pen are you using ?
@MsCoopersArtClass4 жыл бұрын
I'm using a Pigma Micron for this tutorial but I also like the felt tip pens that Prismacolor and Sharpie make.

Ma'am, was that a 0.05mm pen?
@MsCoopersArtClass3 жыл бұрын
I think it was a 0.08mm but I would recommend a 0.05mm for more precision.

What size nib do you use with your microns
@MsCoopersArtClass3 жыл бұрын
I usually use a 05 Micron. It's a nice, medium size. I usually switch to a 08 Micron for videos though, to make it easier to see what I'm doing.

I recently started stippling with Microns...I quickly discovered I have a heavy hand by ruining a 005
@MsCoopersArtClass3 жыл бұрын
That's the worst feeling, isn't it? I've also had to learn to use less pressure.
@GoldGauntletComix3 жыл бұрын
@@MsCoopersArtClass it is!! I didn't even realize I had a heavy hand. Plus I love my Microns so a little salt in the wound

Excuse me, your highness. It will be such an honour if I may know the type of pen/marker you're using, Ms. Cooper. May I know? I would be truly obliged if you reply. Thank you so much if you are even wasting your time for reading my unimportant comment, Ms. Cooper. I'm so sorry for taking your time. 😅

Hi there, thanks for watching and commenting! I appreciate your question. I am using a Micron pen in this video but any kind of felt-tip pen works for stippling. It does help to use smoother paper with cheaper pens though, in my experience.
