Outstanding. My cut up tight to baseboard was not getting the last half inch. Checked pad. Was not cut back 3 rows. Fixed that. All went well

the 3 penny ting is good however placing 3 quarters under back side of the wheel castings on a flat surface will also give you the same 2 degree cut angle. If a slip of note book paper is placed between the quarters and castings and slowly removed while adjusting the wheels and stop as soon as a slight bit of resistance is felt on the slip. Tighten the lock nuts and you now have adjusted your edger to within 2 one thousandths of an inch of being equal to each other. I carry a piece of granite with me to use as a flat surface base , the same material machinists use in precision measuring.

At the end of the day if your edger is set up correctly you should be able to use it effortlessly with one hand on a relatively flat surface.

Wouldn't you put 3 pennies on the left and 3 on the right? Seems like you could not be level and you could put one higher than the other by mistake if a wheel is already higher...or things are actually level.

Hi Joe, Every edger is adjusted a little differently based on user preference. Always be sure to check with the equipment manufacturer for their specs on proper use of the tool.

I'm refinishing cupped, 107 year old, never before refinished pine flooring. The paper is gumming up. Any remedies? 60 grit, but I'm going to get a lot coarser grit next time I attack it. Thanks.

I flip the edger, upside-down . . . .1/4" safety glass 12" x 12" laid on the edger disc & contacting both wheels. Now make VISIBLE adjustments. . . . . ."different way to skin the cat" !

Dan R. Braucht yeah but you also have that abortion of a cyclone on your Hummel ! Ripped of Oneida's principle . Not to mention that stupid edger cart 😂😂

Am I correct in understanding that the flex pad needs more aggressive zirconium based sand paper? I was also wondering if anybody knows if the flex pad requires those felt/fiber spacing washers that the regular steel/rubber pads have. Aluminum/rubber pads require you to remove those, in my understanding.

After your edger is properly TUNED . . . .Now look for a way to operate the Back-Killer without the pain ! . . . . .Ever consider SIT -&- Sand ? . . . . . You'll need higher edger handles & a stool ! . . . . . . .View it here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2HUYmSLpcdlh8U

Im sick of going to rental places and finding these machines with worn backing pads. They say their "guy" checks them over, well either they lie or he doesnt know what hes doing. Id hate to see the floors these were used on.
