It’s a bit of a misnomer what is touted as an old money aesthetic today because this was actually the standard in style and quality for even the working class, from auto mechanics to carpenters who wore leather boots, ties, tweed trousers and vests straight up until the early 1960’s when all hell broke loose with the hippie generation and then through today with overseas low quality, low wage fast fashion mass production methods. In essence Lauren has done a masterful job of maintaining an aesthetic that used to be the standard for all.
