So very inspiring! 50 years ago, a very stylish woman told me, a then 20 year old, that no matter what size I might become, or how old I might be, To always wear my clothes with utter confidence, that way she said I would be able to wear any style or colour at any age. She also told me to dress for me, not for someone else and never for my age. I have been doing just that ever since! ☘️💚☘️

I have layered, shoulder length hair, I wear make-up and colours, mostly maxi dresses/skirts, long boots, flat shoes, slim jeans, layers, large scarves, drop earrings, large necklaces. Hats. I look for super buys in charity/vintage shops. Bargains and different. Win/win!

Australian men are boring in their dressing style they don’t have a sense of style . Italian people & most European countries take pride in how they look ,when they leave their homes to go out . I live in AUS & born here from Italian parents so I have always & my family have taken pride in our sense of style , it’s such a pity that the Australian culture don’t care about their sense of style mind you not everyone but we have a large European culture here so these people take the time to look well dressed , but also the young generation of now days dress very badly they just don’t care .

Absolutely magnificent. I am in my sixties and these women look absolutely wonderful in their clothing. Beautiful colorful shift dresses, low heeled shoes and sandals, white bell bottoms, black shirts, jeans, skirts, and all beautiful bags. even the men dress nice. It takes nothing to wear a white shirt and black pants or black top and white bottoms. The men carry their jackets. It challenges me to always dress your best.

I love Italian style and Italy, hubby and I are in our middle 70's and we are in touch with style, not in a trendy way but an enduring subtle way. Italian men have a certain knack of being very chic in a simple careful way when they age, this also applies to women too. They are clever about their weight and disguise their shape, with style. That is mostly true, but can vary significantly depending on where you live in the US. The US obesity rate is *very* high, at 33%, compared to Italy’s 21%. However, the city where I live (Boulder, Colorado) has an obesity rate of only 12%. Naples, Florida and Ft. Collins, Colorado are also under 20%. Having a local culture centered around active outdoor activities and fresh healthy food makes a world of difference.

Yes, Italy can be chick; however, I think some of the wives are younger in the photos of the couples. There are several graceful women going to have the blessing of being in senior years. I don't see anybody suffering from menopausal weight in these photos. If they are, their outfit is concealing it very well.

Just dress well yourself. I am from British Columbia living in Italy for more than 8 years. I am visiting my own place (Victoria) and am so sad to see how people are looking sloppy . Just put a ugly short with a ugly top and you fit in. This morning I saw on the sidewalk a young guy that just look put together. My comment to a friend was that he would fit in Italy.

I know the woman on crutches 6:48 will likely never see my comment, but I want to say to her how much I admire her. She is astonishingly attractive and beautifully attired etc. AS a child I was crippled and in heavy leg braces from age 4 to nearly 6. I had crutches. Still I got outside and played. I had bowed legs from a disease and those bones getting pressed back into straight shape ached at night when the braces were off, I cried but I learned to endure...I grew up with pain. When they came off my family had me in ballet lessons, swimming lessons,anything they could do to encourage exercising those muscles that would KEEP my legs aligned so I became a very athletic girl.. At 45 a had to have spinal surgery. This time on my neck. I was in pain for years again. Still I retired early to a sailboat handled sails some, winches, we had to have a heavy computerized steering system for heavy seas though THAT I could not take. Like that woman I was NOT going to sit down and give up! Yes it hurt...yes I could not enjoy the experience as much as if I had been pain free. But giving up was NOT an option for me...those braces and crutches gave me THAT determination. It took a decade but over years massage broke up internal strictures...tightening of muscles and nerve bundles sending excruciating pain signals to the affected areas. I retrained my brain also to unbundle those pain impulses. I was then pain free most of the time. Now I have arthritis in my knees mainly. i limp sometimes and yes it hurts.I use a cane sometimes. I do what I can...mostly I keep my impact to my legs in a day walking on hard pavement etc NOT TO A MINIMUM or my bone density will drop...I take it to that fine point just before pain starts. I am NOT going to give up wearing my nice things and doing just as SHE is doing. I worked HARD to stay out of depression...IM a psychology professor so I KNOW what to do... So when you see differently abled people dont pity us. If you are in a situation and the person looks as well turned out as this, dont look away in embarassment.. Please say you look great today because if she is out there dressed like this she IS doing great today...and each day is all ANYONE has. If you know her well, acknowlege her fight...recognise her humanity and the EFFORT it takes to deal with her circumstances. DONT PITY her, admire her...honestly, your feeling bad for her doesnt help.her in any way and your looking away she knows she has made YOU uncomfortable and getting out there knowing she engenders a reaction like sometmes, THAT takes alot of courage too...to bear the pitying glances with aplomb...Just saying...there .....but for the grace of good fotune go YOU.

It's more of a consequence than a blessing. Although, it ends up being a blessing for sure. Walking everywhere. Earring smaller portions. Healthy Mediterranean diet. A lot less sugar. No soft drinks.
