An under appreciated job duty that most will never know.

“Just stop, get out, make ‘em move around you.” Fellow truck driver and truer words have never been spoken. It sucks but you gotta do it. The worst is that one asshole who sees you pulling off to the side with your hazards on and insists on waiting behind you despite waving them on and all the other clear signals of “hey I’m pulling over, go around me!”

I always tell the new guys, “We’ve got the big truck, we’ve got to back into THAT space, it’s gonna take a little time to do it, but we’ve got a job to do and everyone else is just gonna have to wait, whether they like it or not!”

Thanks you from France. :) We're only classic rear loading garbage trucks (with estherics curtains to hide blade), and very few asl garbage trucks.

Ditto. I asked myself “why does he complain so much? Like he’s mad at the world” then I saw the New Jersey plate on the truck 😂

Hey bro ! great video, brings back memories. I used to do this some twenty five years ago, and by far the best job in garbage industry. It saves your back from getting wrecked over time by the truck doing most all the work. Nice video, well done.

Steering wheel spinners are illegal here in Canada. Your joystick is plumbed backwards, pulling it towards you should roll the forks in.

check out the Quick Knob for the steering wheel. its made in NY and i've had mine for years. easy to change between vehicles as it attaches with a small ratchet instead of hardware

I will never get over how old all the technoligy is in America. It's like there has been no development whatsoever in the last 30isch years
