Nicely done! The model does limit things, but I'm betting if you had more time to tweak things, the result can be excellent. It made me wonder about layering edits and textures to the model to make it look more realistic. But I have no idea how much that would do to file size.

Hi, from the USA, Steve. I have seen your videos and they are really wonderful. So, I have a request. I know you have many miniature and forced perspective stuff, but I have been fascinated with hanging miniatures, especially from the 1925 chariot race in Ben-Hur to Things To Come. Can you recreate this in some way?

@shadowproductions969

my biggest issue is the (for this particular shot, not the process) that the background moves straight to the side while the car is angled towards the camera. This would cause objects to get smaller as they go away.. this shot should have been filmed from the side or another background video used. Using a wiggle expression would have helped sell the illusion and some color matching.. still a good tutorial on the basics of how to do this

Absolutely loved this tutorial. A little bit of work, but the final result worths the effort. If I could give an advice, a little bit of shaking effect in the car's layer, would better give the idea of a car moving at high speed through a real road. This way, it seems the car is traveling on a superflat surface....like is placed on a table!

@964cuplove

Lovely exercise !!! Focus / depth of field is key to realism, so as you said, close the stop down when filming the miniature f 16 f32 whatever your lens gives you For the reflection bring in some sky colored boards in from the top, as long as the contour of the car is kept free of overlap thats fine In the end your perspective is a bit off in the car, a tad too much top view Also the fill light from the front is much too faint… any car filmed outside will have a 180° bubble of the sky as lighting source…
