Being inside the garbage truck, having the views and the information you're giving us, gives a whole new perspective on how garbage collection works. I appreciate your videos a lot :D

About 2 years ago I helped Ace switch from a rearload to sideload operation and noticed there are some massive gaps in understanding going both ways between service providers and customers. Additionally, a lot of misunderstandings come from different rules that are either set by a local govt or a company. There's a lot to cover so hopefully I'll convey some of it and try to make some of it entertaining.

This will help me. I like to know things about the trucks even though I'm 13 and and nowhere close to driving the trucks lol

Hey man, so I just started with Republic Services a week ago and they’re going to start training me on ASL Monday. We have NewWay Sidewinder bodies as well, but our joysticks are the older version instead of the newer one like you have. Either way, this video is going to prove invaluable in helping me learn so thank you so much for making it!

Very nice video and explanation of the training process. I train for a local school district in transportation and I’m going to use your confident and competent phrase in my training. I’ve been driving school bus for about 13 years and training for about 10 of those. On a whim years ago though I decided to fulfill a childhood dream of mine and that was to drive a garbage truck. The training was not anywhere near what you’re talking about. It was more of here are the keys and about one week of training which was not using the “chunking” style you described. The hardest part was we were given paper maps with no routing and told go for it. I only lasted about a month and then left frustrated. Keep up the good work!

Sorry the grandfathered ones should just pay for a cart or required 4mil bags....safer for everyone!

You're not wrong. That may be something we implement sooner than later. I left a cart blocked by a car once and they switched to a competitor rather than set to curb. We have to use soft hands.
