I have been playin about 1k hours steerin with keyboard, and used mouse for camera and most of other functions like wipers, turn signals, retarder... and finally i got myself a steering wheel ))))

W = accelerate S = brake A (tap) = look left A (long press) = turn signal left D (tap) = look right D (long press) = turn signal right Mouse = steering RMB = look forward That's my setup... I used mouse steering since ETS1

2:40 I have set LMB for Accelerator And RMB for Brake, it just works pretty well and is easy to control the truck.

Ironically, i prefer Keyboard for a more snappy response of buttons and instantenous one as i sometime felt that Controller or Wheel felt too slow for what i need. I also like to tap the steering wheel too if i need a smoother cornering

Interesting take. Did you mess with the wheel sensitivity? It could help improve response rates

@@MilanTrucker nah... I definitely cannot afford a wheel, and i don't play controller eitther. I just... You know, i feel like if i play with either of those things, i feel like response of those things could be not up to my preference. I like my Step by Step process. Like fully turn my wheel before i throttle in tight spaces of U-Turns. But even i admit that those times requires gentler acceleration input while otherwise i prefer full throttle to go.

Windows's built-in mouse acceleration is terrible. Although mouse acceleration can be helpful in some situations, you may need to use other software unless your desktop environment already has built-in tuning.

Yes. Same for me for years. Now I use more of joystick because its easier to record cinematics

Most important tip for mouse steering is to lower your sensitivity in the config, not in game. That way you can still move the wheel fast when you have to park for example, but driving is very smooth. Euro Truck Simulator 2 > steam profiles > #### > controls.sii "mix msteering -mouse.rel_position.x?0 * c_msens *0.1" You can tweak the values or just fine tune it in game.
