I love these items you made. I haven’t dyed corn husk but I did dye some pinecones red for Christmas. I made a real pretty pinecone with fake pine-needle arrangement for Christmas. The only problem with dying pinecones is the water getting cold, when it’s hot they open up but when the water turns cold they close up tight which makes it difficult to get the inside dyed. I think the color would be a deeper if I had an old crockpot to simmer them in overnight.

Thanks Donna. I will have to try that, I have a ton of pinecones.

Your wreath and floral arrangement is stunning. That eggplant color really pops. And the grassy stuff in your floral arrangement elevated it to another level. I love love love the use of corn husks. I never would have imagined how versatile it is. You are showing some ideas I haven't seen any other Ytubers do. Great job as usual Patti! I bet your wreath would sell like hotcakes! Have a great rest of your week. Heading home from Texas at the moment. Only 7 more hours to go 😅😁

I really enjoyed your video…my problem is, I live in Nicaragua and will have to prepare husks taken from the corn myself….once I figure that out I’m gonna make that wreath AND the pumpkin! Great job!

Thank you liz. That is awesome. I have prepared my own husks before years ago. I had to bleach them. I hope that you get to make them. Thanks, Patti

I used to made dolls and others crafts with corn hush, I don’t put bleach in the corn hush , cuz the one they sell in the stored is already clean and ready to used and dye them different way , but you make a great job ,very talented .

Oh Patti, they're both so beautiful! I never imagined corn husks could be so pretty! If we could keep our corn alive long enough to get actual corn, I could have my own husks. We planted Indian corn this year too. We had one stalk live. The regular corn all died. It's just still too hot here. It's still over 100 every day. Going out of town for our 30th Anniversary so I'll catch up with you in a few weeks. Have a great week and weekend since I won't get to watch you till I get back. Pattie
@PattiJGood2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Pattie. I planted indian corn one year from seeds my mom sent me. She said it was sweet corn and boy was I surprised when my corn stalks grew 6' tall and it was indian corn. I had so much of it that year, I gave it to everyone. LOL. Happy anniversary, that's awesome 30 years. Have a great weekend.

@@PattiJGood that sounds like a fun surprise! Thank you for the Anniversary wishes. As it turns out, Spartan cancelled the race due to the fire burning in California so my son won't be racing. Not sure what we're doing now.

Question : Can you demo an actual corn wreath. I saw a beautiful deco of corn in the prime video movie called "Not To Forget". The husk wreath you made is beautiful im going to try it.... Thanks

Thanks. I can next fall. I will put it on my list. I will have to look that movie up. Thanks for the suggestion.

If you cut the husks directly from the dried corn stalk, do you need to soak in the vinegar?
@PattiJGood2 жыл бұрын
I soaked mine in bleach. You just want to make sure they don't mold. If they are very clean, you are probably fine. I just ordered some from Amazon and they had a funky smell. The bleach took all of that away.

You are so talented!!! Who wudda thunk about coloring corn husks? Not me! 😆 I love both projects and you make it look easy enough!! BTW is there a purpose of the random clicking noises during the video? 💛 🧡
