Have you used Rit Dyemore before and if so how does it compare to iDye Poly? Thanks!

Both iDye Poly and Rit DyeMore are suitable for dyeing synthetic fabrics, so Rit DyeMore should work for your project. However, I haven’t used it personally, so I can’t say if it works as well. I personally use iDye Poly since I have experience with it. One advantage of Rit DyeMore is that it comes as a single liquid solution and doesn't require a color intensifier/activator, unlike iDye Poly. This means you don’t need to use the entire bottle at once; you can pour out just a small amount to test on a sample, like a keycap, to see if it produces the result you want. Hope that helps!

Hey, idk if you respond fast but I had a quick question, are the colors going to come out light, or dark. Cause I want a brown, or red. But idk if the brown will be light or the red will be a pink idk

The red dye came out very vibrant. I’d say it’s on the slightly darker side [which I think was ideal for the project], but as you can see in the video, you can still read the dye sublimated black text on the key caps. I think that’s the most important thing. Depending on the brown, I imagine it would come out quite dark, but still very vibrant. Always do a test key first, and for best results, be sure to dye white PBT key caps :)

Can I use this method in black shine through keycaps?

Unfortunately it won’t have a noticeable effect on black key caps because they are the darkest shade and the dye doesn’t lighten the key caps. Also, due to shine through key caps sometimes consisting of 2 different plastic materials you would likely run into further issues. At best, if the shine through material is PLA it may tint them. However, it would be risky and (again) it wouldn’t really have a noticeable result overall.
