Great video! Your indigo plants are so beautiful! I’d love to see more of your garden and how you grow things- are yours in full sun? I am trying to grow indigo this season and they are doing okay but not really taking off! Thanks :)

Thanks so much! This year I’m experimenting with sun zones in my garden. I have indigo planted in various locations so that they all get varying amounts of sun. Some are in full sun, some get morning sun and some get evening sun. Surprisingly, the plants in the full sun are doing the best. What type of indigo are you growing?

I’ve heard that in Mexico the traditional method to set the indigo in fabric so that the color stays darker longer, was to soak the dyed pieces in urine. Something about the acidity…

Is the material dyed with Indigo first? How long is the soak ? Thank you

🥲🙀🙀🙀 Wow, I would’ve never imagine this as an option for Indigo. Please more videos of Indigo and your garden. Also I had never seen that leaf of Indigo. I am from Puerto Rico and the one I have in my garden are tiny little leaf’s and the seeds look like small bananas.

Do to the nature of indigo and how it binds to cloth, there’s no process necessary for fixing the dye.

I’m in Texas - I started my first seeds indoors in late February and transplanted my first batch mid March. I continued to start seeds throughout March and April so I could stagger plant and not have to harvest all of the plants at once. My indigo growing season usually lasts until September or October and I sometimes get 3-4 harvests. If your in a mild climate, you may still get a couple of harvests!
