Because of the citric acid in the Kool-aid, the dye should be dyefast. However, I suggest giving your dyed yarn a good rinse in cool to lukewarm water until it runs clear just to make sure. Once it's dry, it's ready to use.

Yes, once you have set the dye, you just rinse out the yarn and set it aside to air dry. If you would like, you can use something like wool wash to wash the yarn, then rinse and air dry. I hope this helps! We totally should have shown it dry!

Hey hun, Does the kool aid dyeing wash off the yarn and how long does the kool aid colors last???? 😊
@ExpressionFiberArts Жыл бұрын
If you're worried about the dye bleeding, you can set it even more by giving it a bath in white vinegar and water. Here's more info about that process: www.darngoodyarn.com/blogs/darn-good-blog/why-dye-bleeds-what-to-do-about-it As to how long the color lasts... that's going to depend on a number of factors, such as how frequently it's washed, the type of detergent used, the colors, so unfortunately, I really can't say.
@helenedumoulin90923 жыл бұрын
And the yarn setting in the microwave will keep it from bleeding when washing ?
